EVK 5.3 QPBC Multifunctional Coin-Operated Machine

The EVK 5.3 QPBC is a multifunctional coin-operated ticket machine for selling tickets on public transport vehicles. Passengers can pay with coins or a contactless card; the machine also reads travel cards, as well as QR and 2D codes. The fare options are clearly displayed on a 7-inch touchscreen, and tickets are printed by a built-in printer on paper up to 80 mm wide. The stainless steel casing is tamper-proof.

The EVK 5.3 QPBC coin-operated ticket machine combines ticket sales, payment by coins and contactless cards, and QR code scanning in a single compact unit. It is designed specifically for use on public transport vehicles, where it stands up to the demands of the environment thanks to its robust stainless-steel construction, durable touchscreen and easy front-panel operation. It thus enables transport operators to offer passengers a convenient and fast fare payment experience, regardless of whether they pay in cash, by card, or use a travel card or e-ticket.

Bank and chip cards
The combined contactless reader accepts travel cards, Visa, Mastercard and Amex payment cards, as well as other media. Passengers can therefore use various methods of fare payment on a single device. Four slots for SAM modules are available for card applications. The reader supports MIFARE and DESFire cards as well as NFC technology.

Coin payments and cash drawer
The coin acceptor accepts CZK and EUR coins; other currencies are available on request. It recognises coin types and rejects counterfeit coins. A mechanical ‘CANCEL’ button is provided to cancel a coin transaction. Cash is stored in a removable, lockable cash drawer with a capacity of 3 kg of coins. The cash drawer is accessible from the front, which makes it easier to replace during machine operation, and can also be locked electrically.

Touchscreen LCD display
The 7-inch colour touchscreen with a resolution of 600 × 1024 pixels clearly displays the fare options. The touch surface is protected by H6-hardness glass. An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the backlight. The display retains high brightness even after passing through the touch layer, and the LED backlight has a long service life.

Ticket printing and QR codes
The built-in printer issues tickets on paper up to 80 mm wide. It prints at a speed of 100 mm/s at a resolution of 150 DPI, and an automatic cutter separates individual tickets. The optical scanner reads QR and other 2D codes, including the Aztec format, regardless of ambient lighting. LED indicators show the device’s status, and a built-in speaker provides audible alerts.

Ethernet communication
: The machine’s communication is handled via Ethernet with passive PoE, so a single cable is sufficient for both data and power. The control module utilises a 1 GHz dual-core ARM processor, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of microSD storage. The USB interface is concealed within a mechanical housing. An internal backup power supply maintains power for several seconds. Typical power consumption is 10 W, rising to 60 W during printing.

Stainless steel design
The Automat is designed for use in public transport vehicles. The casing, made from stainless steel sheet at least 1.5 mm thick, is secured against prying. The replaceable mechanical lock is compatible with a universal key.
