Tram transmitting coil - BSV TC-24
The BSV TC 24B (transmit coil) inductive loops for use in trams are designed to be placed under the car. The transmit coil is encapsulated in epoxy to ensure its electrical properties (the coils are manufactured with a tolerance of ±5%). It is placed on the bottom of the plastic box shown here. As this is an inductive method of information transmission using the magnetic component of radio waves, a safe distance from metal objects must be guaranteed (the larger the better). The minimum distance between the coil and metal objects is just the height of the box. Therefore, brackets can be mounted on the lid of the box to secure the box to the tram.
Mechanical design of the coils:
- Transmitting coil straight
- Transmitting coil rotated 90°
Both types of coils are available without or with a supply cable.
