Ticketing system for the Most and Litvínov Transport Authority
- News
HERMAN has successfully completed the implementation of a new electronic ticketing system for the Most and Litvínov Transport Authority. The project involves a comprehensive modernisation of the technologies used for passenger ticketing, traffic management and transport system administration. The scope of supply included new in-vehicle technology, the modernisation of ticket offices and information centres, a customer e-shop, a ticket inspection solution, a centralised back-office system, and integration with the transport company’s operational and dispatch systems.
From the vehicle to the control centre
The new solution links all key aspects of operations into a single functional whole. New EPIS 4.1 on-board computers, ticket validators, multifunctional coin-operated machines, UCU communication units and other technologies ensuring modern passenger processing and the transmission of operational data were installed in the vehicles. At the same time, the network infrastructure, server facilities and communication services required for the day-to-day operation of the system were modernised.
Another key aspect of the project was integration with other systems used by the transport company. The new ticketing system was linked to the Transportela dispatch system, which supports traffic management and vehicle monitoring, and to the ANBOS platform, which acts as a C-ITS back office for the management of cooperative intelligent transport systems. This integration has created an environment linking passenger ticketing, traffic management, vehicle-to-dispatch communication and other intelligent transport services.
Modernisation of ticket offices
The project also included the complete modernisation of ticket offices and information desks. The new workstations enable faster management of DÚK cards, the sale of tickets, the topping up of e-wallets, and the handling of customer enquiries and complaints. Transport company staff now have access to all the necessary data via a unified interface linked to the system’s central database.
New services for passengers and ticket inspectors
The project includes a customer e-shop and portal enabling the management of DÚK cards, the purchase of season tickets, topping up of electronic wallets and access to transaction history. The ticket inspector solution has also been modernised, incorporating new inspection terminals, ticket inspector management and the evaluation of inspections directly within the central system.
BackOffice BOS
At the heart of the entire solution is the BOS system, which manages fares, cards, ticketing equipment, transactions and operational statistics. The transport company has thus gained a unified platform for managing all key processes related to ticketing and transport operations
More than just a ticketing system
The project in Most and Litvínov exemplifies the approach on which HERMAN has long built its business. We do not limit ourselves to supplying individual pieces of equipment, but create solutions that we can develop ourselves, tailor to the customer’s requirements and integrate into a single functional system. As a result, transport operators have access to technology from a single partner who understands the entire solution, from the vehicle right through to the central systems.
